Steve Kavanagh has served as your Trustee on the Peel District School Board since 1998. Issues to be managed and resolved next term:
- Achieve fair funding for Peel students. The Ontario (McGuinty) Government currently funds Peel students at the 3rd lowest rate in the province.
Close the gap, Mr. McGuinty. Now - not in 4 years!! What happened to your government's promise to review the funding formula in 2010????
I will continue my efforts to turn this around.
- Achieve full funding for transporation in order to expand service
- Achieve more funding for English as a Second Language programs
- Getting appropriate funding for All-Day Learning (kindergarten years)
- Maintain & Improve EQAO Literacy and Numeracy scores
- Building & opening the new Secondary School for 2011 (Chinguacousy, north of Queen)
- Develop a 3rd Regional Arts program and locate it in a West Brampton secondary school
- Continue to provide safe and effective schools for students
